 Betrayed by his brother and framed for the death of their father, Niell Paratour is stripped of his title and allies and forced to flee his noble home. As he strives to avenge his father and reclaim his own rightful title, he must first learn to master his own dark magic or be destroyed by it.

 

A man from Niell's past, now calling himself Silver, further complicates matters by being in league with those who had a hand in Jorne Paratour's rise to power. The years have changed much between Niell and Silver, while much has remained the same, including their feelings for one another. As events force them to work together, those feelings grow deeper still. Though, whether Niell succeeds or fails, either outcome could damn their relationship.

 

In a land where duty and honor are everything, Niell must discover his own definition of honor and decide which he will follow: his own or his realm's.
